Acoustic Tuesday

Well, the Medicine Show is back in business. Last night we packed the house at the Gilded Iguana. There were, roughly, 100 people listening to great music, drinking a dn eating. It's weird but too many people come in and want to steal our thunder. There are so many "musicians and singers' out there and everyone wants to borrow a guitar and a mic and a mic cable or a drum or bring their own drum and just move in. Oh well, I guess that's what happens when you get to be good and popular. Anyway, a good time was had by all.

DeBlois Was Here

Wow! After a 6 months in the US Deblois came back with copies of her new CD Lavienth (sp?), produced by Bill MacPherson and recorded in LA. The songs are all originals and all are great. Bill played bass and guitar, Rogerio (the CD engineer) played percussion and did the back up vocals. Deblois' voice is a cross between Melissa Ethridge and Jack Johnson. She rocks and sooths with great vocals and the music is great. She has been playing and singing with our band, The Medcine Show, and has been a big part of my musical persuits. Check it out on CD Baby.

Acoustic Tuesday

Man-o-man! Did we pack the house last night. The Medicine Show played at the Iguana and at *:30 we had over 200 people packed in the place. The Medicine Show is starting to really gel and we sound better every time we play. Last night we had Mark Kafir on guitar from S. California and his friend Big Wave Dave on the electric violin. Man did we rock the place or what!? Also, DeBloise was in town and sat in with us and did a few songs on her just released CD called "Laviathan". If you're interested in this female Jack Johnson contact CD Baby and order one. Breakfast is ready and I gotta go. Ciao,
Joe

Billy Rio Is Back

Bill is back and the discussions have already started about the new band and how/what we're going to do. I may be taking a guitar and mandolin roll in this years music. Bill wants to play bass and have us other band members take a bigger roll. Bluegrass, folk, rock, jazz, blues are all on the table. It should be a great season. I go to San Jose tomarrow to meet with the luthier that's building my new mandolin. It'll be a beauty. Stay tuned for our next Acoustic Tuesday review.
